With a catalogue of well over 300 original recordings (find them here), which Channel Classics release stands out the most?

I first encountered your label with the Ivan Fischer Mahler recordings that I purchased on CD and I like very much.
Found out via Linn Records that you had downloadable FLACs.

Looked at this site yesterday and downloaded your sample files, as I was curious about DSD, however it does not play on my Linn Majik DSI).

The sample files were from a new recording of Vivaldi violin concertos featuring Rachel Podger. That sample track convinced me to buy the recording. The recording is wonderful. (Now it does help to have seen Rachel Podger perform with Tafelmusik here in Toronto last week.)

Larry,
There are really only two DACs that can play native DSD files - Mytek and Playback Design. I believe more are on the way now that the dam has been broken concerning DSD files being made available. LINN does not record in DSD (or have SACD players) to begin with so that they are not likely to offer an alternative in the near future.
JRivers does read the DSD files but downsamples these to PCM.
Glad you enjoy Rachel and Vivaldi. I surely do!

Very hard to say because it depends on what you are in the mood for. I have about 4 dozen Channel Classic Recordings. About two thirds are SACD's and the rest are Studio Master Downloads. Many were purchased without really knowing the music. There were no dissapointments and many surprises. I could easily say that about dozen are favorites of all the music I own. However, after some careful thought, and much handwringing, I could say that the following half dozen might be my favorites from Channel.

1) Johannette Zomer, Fred Jacobs - Caccini, Nuove Musiche [SACD]
2) Netherland Bach Society - Magnificat [SACD]
3) Florilegium - Bolivian Baroque, Vol. 1 [Studio Master]
4) Wispelwey - Wispelwey plays Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saëns & Bruch [SACD]
5) Podger - La Stravaganza [Studio Master & SACD]
6) Budapest Festival Orchestra, Iván Fischer - Schubert, Symphony No. 9, Five German Dances [SACD]
