DSD files can have up to 3 db of extra headroom before any clipping of sound will occur.
In downsampling to pcm format pluc 6 db is the usual level added to get the same levels.
It can occur that there will be 'overlevels' of .1 or .2 db. On checking these files I found that though your meter will indicate clipping (probably using audacity) I left the levels the same as I felt there was no danger of hearing any clipping (distortion)

Having downloaded the Penderecki disc, I find the recordings frequently gone into heavy clipping . What has happened ?
