Niles,
I have no control over how people are listening at home, but we have sold over 10,000 of this release this last month in Holland alone without the feedback you are giving.
This recording is rich in overtones to be sure, and the dynamics are very large. (coming from the DSD source material)
We decided to have more 'air' around the sound because we felt this works better with this kind of music.
Hundreds have also downloaded this release.
You have already downloaded the hi rez so that I don't know what we can do to further help. Please contact me at info@channel.nl

greetings

I recently bought Metamorphosis, The Hours by Lavinia Meijer on SACD. Unfortunately it sounded terrible on my normal CD player. No high, no mid, no low, but a big peak between 165hz & 315hz. A very, very boxy sound. It sounds like everything above 2.5Khz and below 125hz is gone.

I returned the CD to the store because I thought it was my 2.0 setup and normal CD player.

Today I bought the CD master FLAC files, in the hope those sound properly.
Unfortunately the 2 channel FLAC files sound just as bad as the CD on all my systems.

The mastering sounds so poor that I can't imagine it should sound like this, and I must be doing something wrong.

Could someone please point me into the right direction to burn the FLAC's to disc in full quality. Or at least play them in full quality on my PC.
