Netherlands Bach Society

The Netherlands Bach Society presents about 50 concerts a year, with repertoire usually focusing on Bach, his contemporaries and predecessors. Most performances take place in the Netherlands, but various successful tours have taken place in France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Poland, Norway and Japan. Approximately half of the annual programmes are conducted by artistic director Jos van Veldhoven. For the remainder of the concerts the Bach Society collaborates with some of the most eminent Early Music conductors: Gustav Leonhardt, Paul McCreesh, Johannes Leertouwer, Philippe Herreweghe, René Jacobs, Frans Brüggen, Roger Norrington, Iván Fisher and Paul van Nevel. All of the musicians who work with the Netherlands Bach Society are specialists in the authentic performance practices appropriate to 17th and 18th century repertoire.
